ABOUT US

Ignite My Fire Youth

The kickoff of our journey began on August 27, 2022. The first annual Ignite My Fire Event for Boys was held at the Shaquille O’Neal Boys and Girls Club of Henry County. Representatives from major companies such as Delta Airlines, Google, and various other industries met with the youth and provided insight for them to explore different career opportunities. At the event, an official proclamation was presented by McDonough’s very own Mayor Sandra Vincent, declaring August 27, 2022 to be “Ignite My Fire Day” from that date forward.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Sharlene Sanders

Sharlene Sanders is the founder and CEO of Totally You Support Services, an organization that provides a full spectrum of grant management and compliance consulting services for government entities, non-profit organizations, and corporations. She specializes in assisting her clients through the challenging process of grant award and management, while mitigating risk to ensure that compliance is maintained and any potential loss of funds is minimized.

Equipped with a servant’s heart, Sharlene pursued and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Albany State University. With the same heart, she served families within Georgia communities for over 30 years throughout her career with the State of Georgia Department of Human Resources.

Sharlene’s management of multi-million-dollar contracts and grants met a variety of needs in the community and proved to be instrumental in creating value-added community resources. While serving as a review panelist for the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, she made recommendations and approved proposals from community organizations soliciting grant funding for the arts community. She successfully coordinated the Worker Trainee Initiative, a Community Resource Outreach Project and self-sufficiency skill-building initiative for social services recipients.

Now retired from the State of Georgia, Sharlene continues with her passion as she serves others through volunteering in addition to recently launching a mentoring initiative “Ignite My Fire” which serves youth ages 13-19. In her leisure time, she enjoys sports, fitness activities, and spending time with family and friends.
